WHAT IS AUTONOMY AND SOLIDARITY?

Autonomy and Solidarity formed in September 2003 as a network of anti-capitalist activists across Canada interested in discussing and making contributions to a series of fundamental questions and debates concerning revolutionary movements nationally and globally. Autonomy & Solidarity launched its website http://auto_sol.tao.ca as a way to provide information and anti-capitalist perspectives to activists. In less than a year, over 800 people have registered as users of the site, and the site features a regular flow of news and analysis with special features on resistance to occupation and imperialism in Iraq, Kanehsatake, and Haiti. There are A&S members in Toronto, Guelph, Vancouver and Sudbury. If you would like to find out more about the mandate and vision of Autonomy and Solidarity, please check out our introduction for more information.

WHO IS THE EDITORIAL COMMITTEE OF THE JOURNAL?

The editorial committee for "Upping the Anti" is made up of three people responsible for collecting and editing the content of the journal (with the help of the Advisory Board) and we make sure that the journal is financed, edited, produced, and distributed. We are also the main contacts for any questions or concerns you might have about the journal. Upping the Anti is an autonomous project initiated by members of the Autonomy and Solidarity network, and articles and editorials published in the journal do not necessarily represent the views of all members of the network.

WHAT IS THE ADVISORY BOARD?

The advisory board is a group of activists across the country who are supporting the editorial committee with feedback, assistance in content, editing and design. There are currently 30 members of the advisory board from cities such as Halifax, Montreal, Toronto, Guelph, Hamilton, Sudbury, Saskatoon, Regina, Vancouver, and Victoria. We are interested in having other activists join the advisory board of the project, especially from cities and regions not covered by current advisory board members. If you are interested in receiving more information about the advisory board, please email us at uppingtheanti *at* gmail.com
