Read, Resist, Rise Up!

As members of Publishers for Palestine (P4P) we invite you to join us for the second international #ReadPalestineWeek, starting Friday, November 29, on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.

During this week, we encourage people around the world to read fiction and poetry by Palestinian and Palestinian diaspora authors, as well as nonfiction about Palestinians and Palestinian history, politics, arts, culture, and life, and other books about organizing, resistance, and solidarity for a Free Palestine. We read – publicly and in community – as part of the global resistance to genocide.

All week long you can download a free pdf of our latest Palestine Anthology. In this collection you’ll find articles, roundtables, interviews and more spanning from 2006–2024.

Events:

#ReadPalestineWeek events will kick off with a 24-hour Global Solidarity reading that begins and ends in Palestine. Watch the livestream on YouTube. Then, on December 1, P4P member Radical Books Collective will host a Read Palestine Week event to read Isabella Hammad’s Recognizing the Stranger and P4P’s new collection And Still We Write, available for free. If you have an event to add, please reach out.

See all P4P events here.

Special publications:

Publishers for Palestine is also bringing out a new zine for this week, of new work by writers in and from Gaza: And Still We Write. You can download the digital version free from the P4P website as well as many other free ebooks from publishers around the world.

Read to disrupt:

Read in your workplace, at your school, in the mall, on the bus, or out on the street. Read with a group or as a demo. Disrupt business as usual. Record and share your reading on social media. Amplify Palestinian voices as we work to end the genocide, end the occupation, and free Palestine.
